Throw stuff out
Organize it
Put it away
..... Whatever you need to do. A cluttered house, clutters your mind and it's hard to relax. Do a little something every day.

This also applies to work. Take a look at your desk.
Do you have files everywhere?
Post it's?
Old family pictures?

Now go look at your managers desk (or the person that has the job you are working towards). Does it look the same?

Take 10 minutes to really look at the post its you have around your monitor. Do you still look at them? If not throw it out. If you still think you need them - combine to one sheet and post on your wall or add to OneNote. After a while your mind doesn't see/read them because they are so used to them.

Look at old family pictures... Can you take some home and update with a couple current ones? Can you create a calendar in Shutterfly or Walgreens to display monthly pictures there?  This would allow you to have less family pictures in frames but every month look at new ones.

Today, pick up the things on your stairs (I know you have something there that you have walked by 10 times! :) )

Happy Monday

50+ Word of the Year Ideas

Happy New Year! I hope you are starting the new year rejuvenated from the holidays!  I am so glad you are here and joining me on this corner of the internet.  Welcome! I love the start of a New Year.  It's a fresh start, clean slate and a chance to take a look at the year ahead.   In the last post , I talked about how I don't make New Years Resolutions.  Instead, I decide on a WORD.  I think of what I want the year to look like. How I want to shape decisions and what I want to accomplish.   This year I chose....... I want to be more consistent in many aspects of my life.  I am printing this image and putting it on my desk at work and next to my bed.   Have you thought of a word?   If you want to do a word of the year instead of a resolution, I compiled over 50+ words and definitions for you!  Take a look below to help you think of what you want this year to look like/focus on.  You can always pick one for yo...

March Book Review

I read a lot this month. We had a couple quiet weekends, and I took advantage of them by reading.  There were a few books I started and couldn't finish.  Life is too short to read a book you don't like.  But below are the ones I did finish.  I hope you find a few ones to add to your list. Temptations by Sherryl Woods My rating:  4.5/5  I loved it! Slight (very slight if I could finish the book) suspense in the book.  I thought it was a great story and I didn't want it to end. Back of book:   Callie Smith's quest for success far from her Iowa roots has caused a rift with her hardworking family. And with neither her Wall Street career nor her marriage going as planned, she starts to question the choices she's made. But when charismatic network president Jason Kane pursues her to save a failing soap opera, her life is soon full of more twists than a TV story line. Suddenly she gets to know a whole new side to her mother, and also has the opport...

December Book Review.... AND full list from 2023

Welcome to my favorite post of the month - BOOK REVIEW!   Going forward this post will be the first Wednesday of the month.  This month was different because of the word of the year post last week.  In December I technically read 5 books.  However, the books in the Asheville series were short and quick reads.  Honestly, they could have been combined to make one long book.  So, without any more chatter, below are the books I read in December. Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews My Rating: 3.5 / 5 Back of book: The night before her wedding, in the middle of an oh-so-smart rehearsal dinner, interior decorator Keeley Murdock chances upon her fiancĂ© and maid of honor in flaming flagrante delicto. Keeley throws the hissy fit to end all hissy fits, storms out and earns herself instant notoriety in her tiny hometown of Madison, GA. The next day, though, she has to deal not only with a broken engagement but also with her business being shut out by folks in a t...
