WHATS UP WEDNESDAY - 3/27/24

What a month! The weather has been crazy, snow and 60's!  I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind and stick to it!  But I think we are on the upswing and getting warming.  Bring on the sun and flip flops!

Let's dive in!

1. WHAT AM I LOVING?

If you know me for a while you know I don't listen or watch the news.  However, I recently found Yodel on Yahoo! It's perfect for me. It's emailed to be every morning at 8:30 with the top few headlines and a few bullets underneath to summarize what I need to know.  It's the perfect quick read!  Check it out: Yodel

What else I am loving is Girl Scout cookies!  They arrived and I loved watching her organize them all and bag them with people's names.  We are off to deliver this week!  Support your Girl Scouts whenever you can!

If you needed more motivation.... here is wine paring with your Girl Scout cookies!

2.  WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO

Miss Curly and I did an Easter craft!  Super easy and cute.   All you need is a Dollar Store plastic bunny, brown spray paint and a paint marker.  You can also tie a ribbon around the neck but I was lazy.

Spray paint the bunny

Once dry put it together and use the paint marker to highlight the eyes and nose.  They look like chocolate bunnies now!

3.  WHAT AM I DREADING?

Nothing!

4.  WHAT AM I LISTENING TO?

I am still hooked on the Do It Scared Podcast by Ruth Soukup.  I listen whenever I am in the car.  I find it incredibly motivating!

5.  WHAT AM I EXCITED ABOUT?

Everything.  Lots of fun things coming up in the coming months!  Stay tuned!

Have a great week and don't forget to stop back on Monday for Monday Motivation!

January Book Review

Welcome back to our monthly book review. This is the post where I share the books I read last month, rate them and share the jacket summary.  I hope you are able to find a few new books to add to your reading list! However.... This month was a struggle for me.  On average I read about 4-5 books a month.  If I don't like a book, or can't get into it, I stop reading.  Life is too short to read a book that doesn't hold my interest.  That happened more this month than ANY month, in the last 3 years where I have been tracking what I read.  I must have started and stopped 4 books. I just couldn't not get past the first couple chapters.  It was a struggle for sure.   This month, I read a series on Kindle Unlimited that I will only count as 1 book.   I'll explain more below.   The Christmas Retreat By Grace Meyers   My rating: 4/5 My comments:  This was a 6 book series.  The books were about 70 pages long....

Motivational Monday - 4/29/2024

Throw stuff out Organize it Put it away ..... Whatever you need to do. A cluttered house, clutters your mind and it's hard to relax. Do a little something every day.  This also applies to work. Take a look at your desk.   Do you have files everywhere?  Post it's?  Old family pictures?   Now go look at your managers desk (or the person that has the job you are working towards). Does it look the same?   Take 10 minutes to really look at the post its you have around your monitor. Do you still look at them? If not throw it out. If you still think you need them - combine to one sheet and post on your wall or add to OneNote. After a while your mind doesn't see/read them because they are so used to them.  Look at old family pictures... Can you take some home and update with a couple current ones? Can you create a calendar in Shutterfly or Walgreens to display monthly pictures there?  This would allow you to have less family pic...

How do you celebrate?

Anything can be celebrated.   A good grade on a test.   An improved grade on a test.   A winning goal!   Amazing effort on the field   A promotion   A clean bill of health at the doctors.   Scans showing no new cancer growth.     I have always been a glass half full kind of person. I truly believe there is a good in 95% of all situations.  Let’s celebrate the good!  Even if it’s just recognizing the good, recognizing can be a form of celebrating.  I recently interviewed and received a promotion at work.  I am proud of myself!  I had been working hard at my current role but had only been in it for 2 years.  When this role came open, I applied for it.  I applied for the fact that I always want to grow and improve.  I applied to put my money where my mouth it.  You can’t say you want to grow and improve, but not take action when something comes up.  No one will take you seriously if you don’t tak...
