Lake Life Dreaming

Winter is here in Rochester and I hate it.  I enjoy snow during Christmas, and maybe for a bit after, then I am done. We were able to go sledding this year, which we didn't get to do last year.  We have friends that built an outdoor rink and that was SO much fun!  But... it's defiantly not my favorite season.  I like sunshine and being warm.

I love looking on FB and Pinterest at ocean homes and lake houses.  I love the views, sunsets and the decor.  Today I thought we could dream about summer or a warm weather place. Let's take a peek into stranger's homes!  Most of these, as you can see are screen shots because I never meant to do anything with them besides be inspired.  Most of these I don't have sources for so if you find the source, I'll link them.  But all of them are beautiful.

Today's focus is going to be out outside spaces and views

Personal picture. Fourth Lake in the ADK, NY.  Gorgeous sunsets

Personal picture. Beautiful summer day on Conesus Lake

Love the colors and window boxes of this home.

This is my inspriation photo.  I just love it!  I love everything about this.  The striped cushions, the wide dock, planter and concrete tables.  This is from one of my favorite bloggers on Living in Yellow

The porch swing and deep seating would be perfect for waiting the waves.

This is gorgeous!

Imagine stepping out to this view to have after dinner drinks.  Heaven!

Personal picture of Fouth Lake.  Morning fog on the mountains.

Personal picture.  Dock on Conesus Lake

This porch is perfection.  It would be amazing to have indoor/ outside space to shield from bugs, but still be able to enjoy the outdoors.

I love how this porch is styled the colors and coordinating plaid are so welcoming.  I absolutely love the fire pit, so unique!

I hope you enjoyed these of warm weather pictures and inspiration!  We can always dream.....

March Book Review

I read a lot this month. We had a couple quiet weekends, and I took advantage of them by reading.  There were a few books I started and couldn't finish.  Life is too short to read a book you don't like.  But below are the ones I did finish.  I hope you find a few ones to add to your list. Temptations by Sherryl Woods My rating:  4.5/5  I loved it! Slight (very slight if I could finish the book) suspense in the book.  I thought it was a great story and I didn't want it to end. Back of book:   Callie Smith's quest for success far from her Iowa roots has caused a rift with her hardworking family. And with neither her Wall Street career nor her marriage going as planned, she starts to question the choices she's made. But when charismatic network president Jason Kane pursues her to save a failing soap opera, her life is soon full of more twists than a TV story line. Suddenly she gets to know a whole new side to her mother, and also has the opport...

MONEY BACK FROM TAXES? HERE IS A SURE WAY TO GROW IT

April 15th is right around the corner; did you file your taxes yet?   The goal should always be to break even, but it's always nice to receive a return.  Want to make the return you receive grow even more..... invest in a high yield savings account !  We were first introduced to this concept about 9 months ago and didn't do it.  The person that told us about it was incredibly happy with the results they were getting.  It took convincing to get my husband on board, but when he did, he was sold.  Sometimes he has to be "sold" on an idea, so I had to do some research.  Below are the articles and facts I learned/read in the process. [Note: I am not a financial advisor, just someone that loves money.] WHAT IS A HIGH YIELD SAVINGS ACCOUNT? Savings account with higher interest then a traditional savings account.  Sometimes as much as 10x's higher!  It is often found at credit unions or traditional banks.  Traditional savings accounts typic...

January Book Review

Welcome back to our monthly book review. This is the post where I share the books I read last month, rate them and share the jacket summary.  I hope you are able to find a few new books to add to your reading list! However.... This month was a struggle for me.  On average I read about 4-5 books a month.  If I don't like a book, or can't get into it, I stop reading.  Life is too short to read a book that doesn't hold my interest.  That happened more this month than ANY month, in the last 3 years where I have been tracking what I read.  I must have started and stopped 4 books. I just couldn't not get past the first couple chapters.  It was a struggle for sure.   This month, I read a series on Kindle Unlimited that I will only count as 1 book.   I'll explain more below.   The Christmas Retreat By Grace Meyers   My rating: 4/5 My comments:  This was a 6 book series.  The books were about 70 pages long....
